1. Laboratory applications often involve high temperatures, and temperatures of 1500°C are more common, such as metal melting, ashing of organic matter, etc. If it is an ordinary ceramic or quartz crucible, it may break, and the graphite crucible will not be easily damaged even if it is used at a temperature of up to 3600°C. For example, when measuring the composition of ore, samples that cannot be handled by acid dissolution can be directly burned into liquids using graphite crucibles and high-temperature solvents without contaminating the samples.

2. The most feared thing in laboratory applications is that even if the container and the sample react chemically, such as glass and ceramics will be scrapped when they encounter hydrofluoric acid dissolution, while graphite crucibles have almost no reaction to most acids, alkalis, and salts, and are especially suitable for handling highly corrosive solvents.

3. The most worrying thing in laboratory applications is uneven heating or alternating hot and cold bursts. The graphite crucible, due to its excellent thermal conductivity, can ensure that the sample is evenly heated, making the data more accurate; in addition, the graphite crucible has strong thermal shock resistance. Even if it is red hot and suddenly thrown into the water, the graphite crucible will not break easily.

The laboratory chooses graphite crucible mainly for its high temperature resistance, thermal shock resistance, corrosion resistance, and high thermal conductivity. Although it will oxidize after a long time, compared with crucibles of other materials, graphite crucible is the most cost-effective.
