What Are The Unusual Features Of Graphite Molds?
Leave a message
Graphite molds are widely used in our current life, generally speaking, many people don't know much about graphite molds. So what are the special characteristics of graphite molds? Let me introduce to you:
1. Wear resistance
When the blank is plastically deformed in the cavity, it flows and slides along the surface of the cavity, causing severe friction between the surface of the cavity and the blank, causing the mold to fail due to wear. Therefore, the wear resistance of the material is one of the basic and important properties of graphite molds. Hardness is the main factor affecting wear resistance. Generally, the higher the hardness of graphite mold parts, the smaller the amount of wear and the better the wear resistance. In addition, wear resistance is also related to the type, quantity, shape, size and distribution of carbides in the material.
2. Strong toughness
The working conditions of graphite molds are mostly very harsh, and some of them are often subjected to large impact loads, resulting in brittle fracture. In order to prevent sudden brittle fracture of mold parts during operation, graphite molds should have high strength and high toughness. The toughness of the mold mainly depends on the carbon content, grain size and microstructure of the material.
