The application of high-strength graphite molds is most prominent in the photovoltaic and semiconductor industries. Taking single-crystal silicon growth as an example, its preparation process requires high temperatures exceeding 1500℃ and corrosive silicon vapor environments. In this context, graphite thermal field systems (including heaters, crucibles, and flow guides) made of high-purity isostatic graphite become core consumables. These graphite components, with their excellent high-temperature resistance, high thermal conductivity, and extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion, ensure a uniform and stable thermal field, directly determining the crystallization rate and purity of the silicon wafer. In the fields of mechanical manufacturing and electrical discharge machining (EDM), high-strength graphite molds are reshaping the efficiency of precision machining. In EDM, graphite is gradually replacing traditional copper electrodes as the mainstream material. Its application performance is mainly based on three advantages: First, high processing speed; graphite's high conductivity and high-temperature resistance result in a metal removal rate far exceeding that of copper electrodes. Second, strong resistance to wear; especially when machining deep and narrow slits, the high-strength, fine-grained graphite's resistance to corner wear ensures excellent workpiece contour clarity. Finally, good thermal stability; graphite is not prone to thermal deformation at high temperatures, ensuring the machining accuracy of complex cavities. Furthermore, in continuous casting, powder metallurgy, and glass hot bending, high-strength graphite molds, utilizing their self-lubricating and thermal shock resistance, significantly improve demolding efficiency and product surface finish. For example, graphite molds used in the molding of curved mobile phone screens are a typical application.

 

With the explosive growth of the new energy industry, the application scope of high-strength graphite is further expanding. In the lithium battery industry, it is an indispensable high-purity crucible in the carbonization and sintering process of anode materials; in the field of synthetic diamonds, it is a sintering mold that defines the shape of diamond products. In addition, high-strength graphite plays a key role in the sintering of rare earth permanent magnet materials, the hot zone components of optical fiber drawing machines, and the high-efficiency corrosion-resistant heat exchangers in the chemical industry due to its unique chemical inertness and thermal conductivity.
