The use performance and dimension deviation of graphite block

Graphite blocks are used as conductive electrodes in electrolytic metal magnesium, electrolytic metal town and other industries. Graphite blocks are also widely used in the manufacture of corrosion-resistant heat exchange equipment and furnace building materials for high-temperature furnaces in the chemical industry.
The production of graphite blocks varies according to the requirements of the user. Some need to be impregnated with coal tar pitch before graphitization, while others do not. Graphite blocks used as conductive electrodes in the electrolysis industry can prolong their service life by impregnating them with coal tar pitch. Before leaving the factory, check the two indicators of specific resistance and compressive strength of graphite blocks. Graphite blocks used as conductive electrodes of electrolysis equipment have high quality requirements. As a graphite block for the manufacture of heat exchange equipment and masonry high-temperature furnaces, it can also be used with a higher specific resistance.
The technical requirements for graphite blocks are stipulated in the current standard YB2818-78 of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. The graphite block code is SK, and its physical and chemical properties should meet the rules in the table below.
The shape of the graphite block should meet the following requirements:
1. The edges and corners are broken, the depth is not more than 20mm (not counting below 10mm), the length is not more than 80mm, and each piece is not more than two places.
2. Cracks: 220×220mm and 400×115mm graphite blocks, the surface crack width is not included if the width is less than 0.3mm, if the width is 0.3~1.0mm, and the length is not more than 100mm, each block has no more than two places. 400×400mm graphite block, if the crack width is less than 0.5mm and the length is less than 50mm, it is not counted, and if the width is 0.5~1.0mm, and the length is 50~100mm, there are no more than two cracks in each piece.
